Your 2025 Public Rituals

Opening Ritual

9 a.m. | Begins at the Welcome Tent
Continues at Riverview Pavilion

Returning to CNY PPD's beginnings, this year's festival will open with the Snake Dance led by Lydia Springflower and Laylla of Back on the Broomstick supported with drumming by committee member Maxx Hill. Participants will serpentine through the festival grounds, from the Welcome Tent and the Community Tables, around the vendor booths, to the Riverview Pavilion.

There, the opening ceremony continues with CNY PPD committee member and Church of the Greenwood board member Cheyenne Rainford supported by music and sound healing Robin Akeena-Gray of Serenity Wellness, who will give an Honoring of Place and invite the crowd to join in the "Hoof & Horn" chant.

Midday Ritual

1 p.m. | Meadow
with Brian Waters & Jen Koagel

Brian Waters and Jen Koagel invite you to take part in an open druid-based ritual.

Centered on honoring and receiving blessings in return from Earth Mother, ancestral spirits, spirits of nature and deities, the Midday Ritual will provide an inclusive opportunity for all to participate, druid or not.

Also included will be a Starmony ritual, a group experience where we send forth our combined energy in a display of unity.

Ritual leaders Brian Waters and Jen Koagel are both solitary members of Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship, Inc. (ADF)

Closing Ritual

4 p.m. | Riverview Pavilion
Drum Circle with Maxx Hill

Rhythm connects us and carries us from before we’re born until we die—Celebrate that connection to yourself, the earth, the water, the air and the living fire within every other being.

All are welcome—Musicians, dancers, singers. and listeners. No experience or instruments needed! Drums and music makers will be provided. Bring a friend, a drum, a rattle, a shaker or just yourself and your dancing feet.

Maxx carries music with them everywhere, from classroom to forest, auditorium to ritual circle, exploring music's potential to foster growth and healing. Maxx is also an artist educator, designer, and illustrator, bringing the joy and the adventure of art to those who wish to learn. You can find Maxx drumming at a protest or local drum circle and sharing their art through teaching.

New York’s Largest Pagan Festival

Running Strong for Over 25 Years

Central New York Pagan Pride Day (CNY PPD) was established in 2000 as part of the larger Pagan Pride Project. Since 2002, Church of the Greenwood has hosted the annual event, building the celebration to become among the largest in the North East region of the United States.

Following the format of all Pagan Pride Days, our celebration features a public midday ritual, food drive and monetary donation to benefit the Food Bank of CNY and a press release, as well as a closing drum circle, a variety of speakers, workshops and performances, over 80 vendors and readers, and community tables for local covens and spiritual organizations.
